WEDDINGS IN ALLERTON

Marriages ceremonies in Allerton Synagogue or under its auspices are under the authority of the Chief Rabbi and London Beth Din. For more information click on this link https://www.theus.org.uk/category/marriage

There does not have to be a separate Civil Ceremony as the Civil Registration of the marriage is done by the Synagogue’s Secretary for Marriages. There is, however, a requirement for the Bride and Groom to individually post a notice of intended marriage at each of their local Registry Offices. It is recommended that this is done at least six weeks prior to the wedding.

It is recommended that you allow a minimum of 2 months to allow the Chief Rabbi’s Office to make their enquiries before giving authorisation for the wedding to take place under it’s authority.

Our Rabbi will be able to give advice regarding venues at which to hold a reception or celebration.
